COMMISSIONED ART

Commissions

Every commission is a creative collaboration.

Some clients come with a clear vision. Others just know they love David’s colours, textures, and vibe—and want something that feels like them. Either way, it’s a shared process.

“No two people are the same,” David says. “I love the challenge of turning someone’s idea—however specific or abstract—into something real. Some clients want updates along the way, others say, ‘Just go for it.’ I’m good with both.”

Unlike selling through galleries or online, commissions come with one priceless moment: seeing someone’s reaction in real time.

“That’s the buzz for me—watching their eyes, seeing the piece hit, and knowing I’ve captured something that means something to them.”

Commissions – FAQ

How do commissions work?
It’s a collaborative process. You can come with a clear idea or just a vibe—David works with both. Together, you'll develop a piece that feels personal and one-of-a-kind.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?
Not at all. Some people bring reference images or colour palettes, while others just say, “I love your style—make something cool.” David can guide you through the process either way.

Can I get updates as it’s being made?
Totally up to you. Some clients like to see the work evolve with progress pics, others prefer to be surprised at the end. Just let David know your preference.

What materials are used?
Each piece is created using layered mixed media—glass, Perspex, vinyl records, mirrors—and hand-sprayed colour. The result is bold, reflective, and full of depth.

How long does it take?
Timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the piece, but most commissions are completed within 3–6 weeks. Got a special date in mind? Just ask.

How much does a commission cost?
Prices vary depending on size and materials, but limited edition framed works start at £155. Custom one-off commissions are quoted individually after a quick chat about what you’re after.

Can you ship internationally?
Yes—David’s work hangs in homes across the UK, Europe, the US, and Australia. All framed pieces are securely packaged for safe worldwide delivery.

What’s the best part of commissioning a piece?
“Definitely the reveal,” says David. “Seeing someone’s eyes light up when they see it for the first time—that moment never gets old.”
